Neoen and BNRG win 55MWp of solar projects in the Republic of Ireland

Neoen (ISIN: FR0011675362, Ticker: NEOEN), one of the world’s leading and fastest-growing producers of exclusively renewable energy, has won 55 MWp in the Republic of Ireland’s first governmental tender for solar farms.

Neoen and partner BNRG, a Dublin based solar company, have been declared provisionally successful in their bid, winning over 55 MWp. The formal results are due to be announced in September. The capacity will be spread across three projects in the townlands of Hilltown, Millvale and Hortland. The plants are scheduled to be commissioned by the second half of 2021.

This successful bid a year after the purchase of 53.4 MW of wind farms underpins Neoen’s ambitions for the Irish market.

Mathieu Legouix, Neoen’s Ireland country director said: “We are pleased to be among the winners of this first solar tender in Ireland. Such success demonstrates once again our ability to win bids with high local involvement. The prospect of regular tenders between now and 2025 is a great motivator to invest in the Irish market.”

Xavier Barbaro, Neoen’s Chairman and Chief Executive Officer added: “This success confirms our position in the solar market and our ability to combine reliable technology with competitive pricing.  Ireland has great potential for development in renewables and we are proud to contribute via solar and wind power.”
