Neoen wins 47 MWp of solar projects in France
  • Neoen was awarded three solar projects amounting to 46.8 MWp in the latest round of French government tenders.
  • One of the projects is a 35.4 MWp floating solar farm in the Aube
  • All three projects will be operational by 2029
  • Following this eighth round, Neoen remains the top awardee in the French governmental PPE 2 program of ground-mounted PV tenders, with a total of 689 MWp won

Neoen, one of the world’s leading producers of exclusively renewable energy is announcing that it has been awarded 46.8 MWp in the latest call for tenders held by the French government’s Energy Regulation Commission (CRE). With three new projects secured, Neoen remains the top awardee in the PPE 2 program of ground-mounted PV tenders, with a total of 689 MWp won since 2022.

Romilly 2 floating solar farm (34.5 MWp) is the largest project awarded in this round. It is Neoen’s second solar project in Romilly-sur-Seine, in the Aube department of France, following on from Romilly Saint-Eloi (42.7 MWp), which opened in 2024 on the site of a former airfield. It is also Neoen’s second floating solar farm, after Matignicourt (35 MWp) in the Marne department, awarded in 2024. Romilly 2 will be installed on the lake of a former quarry, offering a new lease of life to a site that already bears the traces of human intervention. The plants are due to be commissioned in 2028 and 2029.

These awards demonstrate Neoen’s ability to consistently develop large-scale projects across the country. In developing these farms, Neoen worked closely with local and state departments, local authorities, farmers and stakeholders in the Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, Grand Est, and Occitanie regions. This thorough approach to engagement means the projects are well-integrated at the local level, at the same time as addressing their energy and environmental challenges.

Guillaume Decaen – CEO of Neoen France: “We are proud of this new success. I would like to thank all the local stakeholders who helped us obtain the necessary approval for these projects. We remain the top awardee in the PPE 2 program of ground-mounted PV tenders and will soon exceed 1 GW of solar projects won, all categories combined.

Xavier Barbaro – CEO of Neoen Group: “This latest success demonstrates our ability to offer solutions that are both innovative and competitive. As France’s leading independent renewable energy producer, Neoen is proud to be developing and delivering high-quality projects that contribute to the energy transition, year after year. »
