- Neoen has secured 66 MWp of new solar and agrisolar projects in Italy in the latest national government FER-X auction, announced in Dec 2025
- 6 projects were awarded totalling 50 MWp of solar and 16 MWp of agrisolar
- This brings Neoen’s total secured portfolio in Italy to 211 MW including 151 MW of solar and 60 MW of storage
Neoen, one of the world’s leading renewable energy companies, has been awarded 66 MWp of new solar and agrisolar projects in Italy, following the latest results of FER-X, the Italian government’s renewable energy auction scheme. The awarded portfolio consists of six projects located across multiple regions and includes 50MWp of traditional solar and 16 MWp of agrisolar.
The two awarded agrisolar projects are Neoen’s first in Italy. Both will see the continuation of crop farming around and under the solar panels, which will take up only 20% of the farmland. It is a combined land-use practice that Neoen has been at the forefront of developing in France and Australia, and the company has a significant number of agrisolar projects in its development pipeline in Italy. It highlights Neoen’s commitment to developing projects that deliver renewable energy generation while enhancing agricultural land use and biodiversity.
These wins take Neoen’s total secured portfolio in Italy to 211 MW including 151 MW solar and 60 MW of battery storage. The company also has an extensive development pipeline of over 1.8 GW of solar and storage across the country.
Andrea Bartolini and Daniele Lucchi, Co-Managing Directors of Neoen Italia, jointly stated: «We are extremely proud of this auction result, which confirms Neoen’s growing momentum in the Italian market. Securing over 66 MWp demonstrates our competitiveness and our ability to develop high-quality assets in close cooperation with local communities. These projects will contribute to Italy’s renewable energy targets and reinforce our long-term presence in the country.»
Louis de Sambucy, Neoen’s Regional CEO Europe, noted: «This successful auction highlights once again Neoen’s strong development capability in Italy. I am delighted to see our portfolio expanding with a balanced mix of solar and agrisolar projects, which embody our commitment to combine performance, sustainability and innovation. Italy is a growth market for Neoen, and these new awards underline the excellence of our team and the strength of our Italian pipeline.»
